PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING AN ORDER
Acknowledgments:
By placing an order for a custom pet portrait mug, you acknowledge that you will receive a completed piece in 7 to 9 weeks. I will need 6 to 8 weeks, after receipt of appropriate pet photo, to create and prepare shipment of the custom piece. Delivery times may vary.
I am not a realistic painter, therefore, the final product is meant to capture the whimsical likeness of the animal and its unique characteristics. It will not be a photo realistic copy of your pet. Variations, interpretations, and imperfections are to be expected and will not be a valid reason for refund.
After placing an order for a custom pet portrait mug, you acknowledge that you will be responsible for submitting appropriate photograph of your pet via email to ZarboCeramics@gmail.com. I will send a follow up email after you place an order, to the email you use when placing the order, prompting you to provide the photograph(s). Please ensure you enter the correct email address when placing the order. Please check your spam folders for this email to ensure prompt delivery times. If no photos are received within 2 weeks of order placement, the order will be cancelled and a refund will be issued.
Requirements for finalizing your order:
At minimum, one (1) clear, bright image of your pet. Grainy, poor resolution, and poorly lit images will be rejected. Multiple images are desired. Please email these images to ZarboCeramics@gmail.com with your name and order number after you complete your purchase through this website.
Options for your order to specify in your email:
If you desire to have your pet’s name inscribed on the face of the mug, beneath the pet’s picture, please include their name and your desire for its inclusion in the email. Please double and triple check spellings to ensure the correct name is included.
If you would like to pick the general color to cover the inside and outside of the mug, you may request that color in your email containing the photographs. I have many glazes available. I will not provide previews of every glaze available, but I will use my best artistic judgement in selecting attractive colors meeting your preference. Variations will occur, and I will do my best to choose appropriate glazes within the color family of your choice.
If the photograph includes a collar or ID tag, I will include it in the custom mug as it provides a nice design border, unless explicitly requested to be excluded. However, text within the ID tag will be too small to be legible. Therefore, text within collars and ID tags will not be included in the final product.
Failure to provide the required item will result in cancellation of your order, full refund will be issued, and I will not create a custom mug for you, until the above items are received.
Once I approve of the image you provided and start creating your custom order, no refunds will be issued. All sales at that point will be final. If the piece arrives to you broken, please contact me to resolve.
If you do not add information regarding the optional items listed above, I will make my best artistic judgement in completing these options without your input. Requests for changes may be accommodated if progress has not been made to your piece.
Please allow for 6 to 8 weeks to create and prepare shipment of the custom mug. Delivery times may vary. Should delays occur in the design and creation periods, I will communicate that to you via email.
Tips for creating a useful photograph of your pet:
For pets with long snouts, a ¾ portrait of their face slightly angled to the left or right is most effective at capturing their likeness.
For dogs, I find that I can place a treat or toy just above or to either side of my phone camera where the dog will focus its attention. This can create an attractive pet portrait. Employ the help of friend, too!
Use good lighting. I recommend the photograph of your pet be captured outside during full or partial sun, where safe and appropriate.
Blurry, low resolution, and/or small scale photos are challenging to work with and may be rejected if I am not confident that I can create a high quality impression of your pet. Select some of your favorite images and take some new ones, if possible. We can have open discussion on which photos are your favorite and which photos I think could work best for your mug.
Try to select the optimal view of your pet to show off their unique features. Cute pictures of your pet rolling on their back will likely not create a great ceramic images on your mug. I do love to see them, but I would request a picture in their upright, optimal state.
