Meet the maker behind Zarbo Ceramics

A young woman with long brown hair and green eyes, resting her chin on her left hand, sitting indoors with a mug in front of her.

I am based in Pace, Florida, creating handmade, functional pottery to fill and enhance your life. After all, coffee taste better when sipped from a handmade mug.

I have taken various pottery classes since I was a very young child. During my freshman year of college, I took my first wheel throwing course which sparked a new found passion for making artisanal ceramics. Shortly after, I was gifted my first, second-hand pottery wheel which unlocked my ability to craft outside the constraints of school and work. My full time position as an archaeologist has also added to my artistic and creative ventures.

Since then, I have been making my work out of my garage studio, creating work for friends, family, neighbors, and participating in annual art competitions and pot swaps.

Now, I am excited to start a new venture of online sales, and I want to extend a big thank you for visiting my site and expressing interest in my work.

My name is Mia Zarbo and I am the sole creator and owner behind Zarbo Ceramics.

I am inspired by my personal interests…

INSPIRATION

The natural world and native environments around us, plants, animals, creatures of all varieties…

Travel, exploration, and the spirit of adventure…

TV, movies, video games, novels, and general pop culture…

and perhaps the most important, my puppy dogs.

STUDIO

My pottery studio is set up in my home garage. This modest space allows me the flexibility to work on my pottery after my 9 to 5 job.
